Mental health - Why is it so important?



What is Mental Health?

According to the mental health government website, Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It can affect how we think, feel, and act.



Early warning signs of Mental health problems:

  • Eating or sleeping too much or too little

  • Having low or no energy

  • Feeling numb or like nothing matters

  • Feeling helpless or hopeless

  • Smoking, drinking, or using drugs more than usual

  • Feeling unusually confused, forgetful, on edge, angry, upset, worried, or scared

  • Yelling or fighting with family and friends

  • Experiencing severe mood swings that cause problems in relationships

  • Having persistent thoughts and memories you can't get out of your head

  • Hearing voices or believing things that are not true

  • Thinking of harming yourself or others

  • Inability to perform daily tasks like taking care of your kids or getting to work or school

Your mental health is so important, it can effect how you live your every day life and can hold you back from doing things you really want to do in life, exercise and healthy eating can help improve mental health, walking and clearing your mind makes it easier to think. If you know someone suffering from mental health issues supporting them is so important do not pressure them into things they do not want to do, but listen to them, avoid confrontation but support them by asking what you can do to help, and encourage them to seek appropriate professional help.


If you feel you have any signs of mental health problems it is so important to be checked by a professional. Hypnotherapy can help with dealing with anxiety and depression and help you take control of your life back but is not guaranteed to work unless you fully engage with it.
