Ten ways on how to improve your self-care routine

2020 has been such a challenging year and It is almost too easy to get caught up in every day life, forgetting how important it is for us to take care of ourselves, Self-care encourages you to maintain a healthy relationship with not only yourself but with others, self-care is not selfish! many people think it is. Below are 10 tips on how to treat yourself to much needed self-care time:

  1. Face masks are always good to help you feel fresh and improve your complexion.

  2. Take a mental health day, keeping your mental health strong is just as important as your physical health.

  3. Have a manicure whether you do it at home yourself or you go out to get one done.

  4. Say no if you don't want to do something, we often feel pressured to please everyone but you shouldn't have to please everyone all the time, it is okay to put yourself first.

  5. If you have a bath, have a bubble bath, put some bath salts in and have a relaxing bath it will help clear your mind and make you feel so much better.

  6. Get a massage! massages are always nice. If you can't afford to get one done by a professional you could always ask a friend or your spouse.

  7. Make sure you get enough sleep. It may sound silly but if you're not getting enough sleep it can really drain you and lower your mood drastically.

  8. Try yoga or meditation. Yoga and Meditation can really help relax you! there are many videos on youtube to watch on yoga and meditation , these both can help relieve stress, anxiety and help clear your mind.

  9. Have a social detox day, spend a day off social media and your phone if you can it will help you feel better.

  10. Read a book, whether this be a specific genre you love or an educational book, getting lost in a book can increase your brain connectivity and reduce stress.
